Wombats of the South
Monday, April 28th, 2008The Wombats are a recent indie band from Liverpool, UK. They have their album out which is really cool and refreshing in the endless ocean of MTV2 bands. They have some
hit singles and they climb the charts every time they produce a new one. And btw they are playing the Sziget on the 17th of August.
Backfire at the Disco is just going to backfire now. We like South Central, they made an awsome remix for The Whip and now they take the new - I think reissued - single from The Wombats and give it a heavy rave edge, it pulls like hell. Siren-esqe effects are definetly a signature. South Central = red alert. Vocals are nicely distorted and there’s even a melancholic guitar-slowdown part in the middle. This stuff was done with a lot of taste.
