Just so y’all know kunkers are still around… but a little St. Nicolas day chocolate overdose has slowed down our keyboard fingers. Not to worry, we’re all good and only on the up and up. As you already know i’m a fan of Pilooski  and we did a little bloggy stuff on him a while back.

A banger this remix of Findlay Brown is not, but you wouldn’t expect that anyhow. Rather it’s a lowkey but throbbin edit, good to throw down, right around 3.45 am i’d say, if dj-ing is your thang. Kind of a space-gongy Talking Heads-esque romp. Good change of pace from our usual fare. Pilooski = consistently solid work.

Findlay Brown - Promised Land (Pilooski Radio Edit) // [ysi]

I like Pilooski. Primarily because you’ll never quite be able to predict who the French remixer will hit up next. His re-fresh of 50s/60s star Franki Valli last summer came out of nowhere and brightened up my feet (the video was a lot of fun as well). Not long ago he fast forwarded a couple decades and did a job on the Pointer Sisters. And finally, the last double decade push forward landed him squarely in 2008 and on the case of the Mystery Jets. Two Doors Down has been remixed by quite a few but Pilooski’s showed the most versatility in kunk’s oh so humble opinion. Where to go next? Reverse it 60 years: 1940s I say. The Glenn Miller revival is a monster waiting to happen.
