No tears! I hadn’t heard that line in maybe 15 years. But last month I was in Paris at some crazy pre-party at L’Eclaireur with free drinks and poppin’ tunes. Sorta blew my mind when they played this. Maybe it’s standard in France but as i hadn’t been there in nearly a decade, my sense of standard is non-existant. Tuxedomoon was a new-wavy/post-punk outfit from SF in the late 70s, early 80s (but i shouldn’t say ‘was’ as they are still doing gigs), but who tranplanted themselves to Europe later on. No Tears was a standard in Bay Area goth clubs back when i kinda sorta frequented them (gulp). Glad to see the song’s had some staying power — sounds fresh and spooky as ever.
