Michele Balduzzi aka Phonat have not yet received the proper amount of love he’d deserve from Kunk. He’s an Italian producer and seems that he’s right up in our alley with his uplifting choppy electro house. This time with “Love Hits the Fan” and it’s super-visual video, he’s no doubt on top of many charts. On the other side of the remixing game now is Bestrack whom, on the other hand, we’ve praised many times (posts). His remix makes the track an even more choppy future-funk dancefloor-killer. This nu-disco funk is definitely gonna make some venues and seaside parties crazy this summer. Thanks for the track to Danger! Danger!

We’ve already covered some of Parisian Bestrack‘s efforts, with their remix of Tesla Boy and the recent edit of their Wishmaker by Worship. This day, however, marks the release of their first EP, Sunset City on Bouchemiture Recordings, the label of our beloved Justin Faust. With remixes by Louis La Roche, et al, Sunset City could be described as a mix between Brandon’s funny expression of cloud city disco and the decadent fading-sunlight cheesiness of the 80s in the manner of the brilliant Russ Chimes and others. Oh yeah, you can feel the soft palm of French touch and the cabrio sportscar running along LA on a highway of light up to the sky. Synthy funk and disco plays elegantly from the radio. In other words, get the EP (Beatport) while it’s still hot! And it’s fucking hot.

Little gem of a track, and not the first collaboration in one direction or another, by the tandem of Bestrack and Worship. The original in this case is by Bestrack though he has been pretty prolific of late on the edits. Not least of which was that beauty of a remix of Tesla Boy (kunk post on that). Wishmaker brings the best forward out of both of them and is lush, layered, and lazered. Slight hint of some Daft Punk-ish soundings as well but not in an overbearing manner. Basically it’s yet another example of the juicy audio-fondue which has been dripping down from alpine origins to coat many recent productions from southern Germany, France, northern Italy, and Switzerland (naturlich). Not that were complainin’. Love me some dipped Snickers!

Tesla Boy as many of you know is making love-y synth-y magic from the wild wild east better known as the USSR Russia. They’ve played with the Valerie crew previously, and will once again at their party at Cargo in London this weekend. Goes without saying Kunkers wish they were on hand for that one. Anyhow, the Tesla Boys are working hard and have been picked up on quite a few blogs of late… the real life gigs will certainly follow (in addition to what they’ve already lined up). In this instance, Spirit of the Night has been revved up to a poppy electric footloose single, ready for when the top is down and the stars are out.

Bestrack is outta whereelse (France) and had a nice hit with their GRUM remix not too long ago.  But i’m really digging this one — a happy summer hit is on their hands. But perhaps i’m biased as a petit summer Moscow/St.Petersburg jaunt may be on the cards for me this August, fingers crossed!
