Just got some tasty morsels from Brazil’s Database, who’ll be touring the US soon and have a single to be released on Southern Fried records momentarily (A French Winter). The original is a foamy number evoking a little bit of Braxe, with Yelle-esque pop charms residing just beneath the surface. No surprises at the track’s title as you can see.

The Juan MacLean makeover of Blag Flag got a fair amount of blog love — though i’ll raise my hand for the Database version — a bit more restrained but cleaner and more accessible, at least by these tired old ears. Radio Ladio is hardly new to remix action and the Mae Shi edit still remains my pick of the litter but the Brazilian’s give it a solid, dark and driving, effort.

All in all, between them and the Twelves, Brazil is still on its game these days and i look forward to either act hitting it euro-side round these parts.
