Burning up the Passion Pit
You might know this band, they’re called Passion Pit. They kinda mix faggy electro stuff with the crazy Canadian indie aesthetics. They are the MGMT of 2009. They look like a band who should play weird folk music and they actually have vocals like Arcade Fire. So they are highly bloggable and the world yields: they are frequently blogged. They are blogged at Pitchfork where their Manners debut received 8.5 That’s a pretty high alt-bro score, isn’t it? Not gonna blog about the album because I didn’t have the time to listen to it. I’ve been listening to the Sparklehorse vs Danger Mouse record and My Latest Novel and stuff. Yeah and Sunset Rubdown. And Grizzly Bear which is awful. Nevertheless, Linus Loves sent this remix over some time ago, Burns (post1, post2, post3) transformed The Reeling. This has an authentic video, very 80s full of arty concepts and such. This single and Sleepyhead (Neo Tokyo remix here) are all over the net. This remix is hypnotic disco. You know, an adequate music video would be a girl – possibly under the effect of some weird narcotics – on a crowded dancefloor with headphones on listening to this. Or this concept was already done? Whatever. I like the rework, we are gonna continue to show love for Burns. As for Passion Pit…let’s see.
