Emerging Trend: Australian Scandanavians
February 7th, 2009Elke have crafted a really beautiful, yet strangely unemotional-but-not-necessarily-in-a-bad-way, pop song. When i think of clean, melodic, and sparse pop it’s usually the creation of the proverbial ‘three good looking swedes wearing tasteful sweaters sitting in an austere wooden edifice on a frost-covered plain, consuming nothing but fish on flat bread and Akvavit while striking crisp chords on their synth.’ Or mabye that’s just my own proverb. Anyhow, in this case, conversely, we’ve got some lads from Australia’s Gold Coast. Unexpected, but pay no mind as the result is smooth, oh, so smooth. And as we know well by now, there is never a bad time to feel the raw power of really, really, smooth music.

So put on your Wayfarers, head to the coast, and give the horizon the longest 1000-yard-stare you can muster up. But don’t worry, no matter how long you stare, the ocean’s got more yards than you’ve got stare.
Good find by really large music device.
