Flying Disco

April 24th, 2008

We’re not sure if bangers are indeed dead as Geewhiz mentioned a few days ago, but Kunk-land is totally approving of a modern disco-revival if it can be tastefully done. And Aeroplane have stepped right in to fill that gap if such a gap exists. I know many are obsessed with Glass Candy and though they’re not bad I can’t help but shrug my shoulders at most of their so-called ethereal disco sound… i need a bit more of a beat and a come hither and an urgency. Jetsetting provides that in spades.

From their myspace: “Aeroplane is the Belgium-based project of Stephen Fasano and Vito De Luca.Think psyché guitars, pop keys, melancholic waves and catchy bass lines meets disco beats… Their third 12″ “Whispers” will be released in April which is a collaboration with London Singer Kathy Diamond In the next few months they are a number of remixes coming for Lindström (Feedelity), Cut Copy (Modular) and Allez Allez (Eskimo), but also their debut album is in the pipeline for Eskimo which is planned for release at the end of 2008.”

I should add the Cut Copy remix is of Hearts on Fire — a groovy and stellar edit indeed.
